The special formulation of chloroprene rubber and latex includes special UV inhibitors that retard the suns ability to weaken and discolor the balloon. They have slender necks to make inflation easy and when filled to their rated size these balloons remains soft and pliable allowing for expansion in hot weather. While more durable than a standard latex balloon they are not indestructible, so reasonable care must be exercised when handling.
